S. V. Verkhovets got PhD in Agricultural sciences at V. N Sukachev Institute of Forest, SB RAS (Krasnoyarsk) in 2000. Head of Ecology and Environmental Studies Department, School of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies (Siberian Federal University).

Author and co-author of more than 60 scientific publications, including 4 monographs. Project leader of more than 20 research projects supported by Russian and international funds.

Research interests: Ecosystems ecology, Climate changes monitoring, Forest Fire and Forest Fire Fighting;.

Member of the Public Commission on Ecology of Interregional public organization the “Association of polar explorers of the Russian Federation”; The head of the International Scientific Observatory (2003–2010); The winner of the National Environmental Award.

Accommodation: On-campus accommodation is available:
  • single ensuite room € 45 per month;
  • twin ensuite room € 30 per month.
Practicalities: Airport transfer and invitation letter for a Russian study visa are provided by the University

A practical course is implemented in the state natural biosphere reserve Sayano-Shushenskiy, the state natural reserve Stolby, the state natural reserve Khakassky, the nature park Ergaki.

The program includes summer schools and conferences on environment and natural resources management; practical trainings under the guidance of leading Russian and foreign specialists.

The City of Krasnoyarsk

Krasnoyarsk is the administrative capital of Krasnoyarsky kray – second largest region of Russia. It is a big industrial and educational centre with a population of more than 1 million people, and also an important junction of the Trans-Siberian Railway.

The city is located on the banks of the Yenisey River in the valley formed by the Eastern Sayan Mountains. Nature reserve Stolby ("pillars") has become the city’s visiting card.

Among the famous people born in Krasnoyarsk are artist Vasily Surikov, opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky, biathlete Evgeny Ustyugov, skeletonist Alexander Tretyakov and ice-hockey player Alexander Semin.

In 2019 Krasnoyarsk will proudly host the XXIX Winter Universiade.
