Siberian Federal University is acknowledged as one of the best universities in Russia for 2014-2015 academic year according to the official report.
The ranking is created annually by Interfax news agency and Echo of Moscow radio station, and is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
The performance of universities has been evaluated by the six basic criteria:
SibFU shares 16-17th place with The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration. Over 200 leading Russian universities in total have been ranked.
According to SibFU Deputy Vice Rector Eugenia Turtapkina, Siberian Federal University has been in the top-20 since the very beginning of the ranking development: “The university has always been around this position, from year to year shifting 1-2 places up or down. I would like to note that this stability has been achieved despite the fact that the University has not been receiving a financial support from the government that is granted to a few Russian universities to promote their international ranking positions. Furthermore, compared to the previous year we have improved our total scoring 651 points against 628 last year”.
