Siberian Federal University has raised in Webometrics international ranking of the universities’ websites. It now has become number 10 among the Russian universities, and number 1175 among the universities of the world. The recent ranking update was published in July 2015.
Webometrics analyses over 20,000 worldwide universities according to their visibility in the Internet. A number of hyperlinks to the university website and its size are among the main criteria for the assessment. SibFU has grown significantly by these indicators.
Another important factor for assessment is a number of research materials on the university web pages. Thus, Webometrics indirectly compares scientific and research activity of universities through their websites.
Apart from SibFU, according to Webometrics, top 10 best universities of Russia include Tomsk State University, Novosibirsk State University and Ural Federal University. The ranking has been published twice annually since 2004.
