The meeting was organized by the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Kingdom of Denmark.

The topic of the Arctic is one of the most relevant. Russia and Denmark are the members of the Arctic Council, which is always open to joint projects in science and technology and education despite the differences in the foreign policy.

The meeting was opened by Artem Markarian, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office, who noted the urgent need for organizing the inter-university dialogue and exchanging of experience in the study of the Arctic. Viktor Maksimov, the representative of the Russian Embassy in Denmark, also delivered a welcome speech.

After the official part of the round table participants were presented the reports from the Danish and Russian colleagues in the main field of research and practical innovation implementations in that field. Patents for the inventions of the Russian Federation presented by the Russian side caused genuine interest among the Danish colleagues, and during the discussion an agreement was reached on possible ways to use Russian technologies in the production of large-size equipment used in the Far North. At the end of the meeting, the parties have agreed to write meeting minutes and prepare an agreement on cooperation between the universities in priority areas.

In 2016 the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Denmark has prepared and organized 5 major projects for cooperation in the university sector. Leading Danish universities, included in the top 300 world rankings, established contact with their Russian counterparts and signed partnership agreements. In some cases we are talking about the development of joint programs of double diplomas that enables recognition of the Russian higher education in Europe.
