International visitors attend workshop on urban planning at Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering

Professor Christopher Campbell and a group of nine students from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Washington arrived on 22nd August at the campus of the Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Siberian Federal University.

The professor and his students attended the international workshop on urban planning which includes visiting several Russian cities to study their architectural history and to attend discussions at their urban planning centres.

Prof. Campbell says: “With Professor Frank Westerlund (UW) and Professor Irina Kukina (SFU), I founded and continue to run the Seattle/Krasnoyarsk Exchange Program on Urban Policy, Planning, and Education. This program promotes research and student, faculty, and professional exchanges between the University of Washington and the Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Siberian Federal University in Krasnoyarsk, Russia (Siberia)”.

The international visitors were shown historic sites in the city and discussed the plan for the university campus design developed by the university students supervised by Associate Professor I.V. Kukina and Professor S.M. Gerashenko.
