Congratulations on 1 September | Siberian Federal University

Congratulations on 1 September

Congratulations on September 1 from Aleksander Uss, president of Siberian Federal University and Maksim Rumiantsev, rector of Siberian Federal University.

Aleksander Uss, president of Siberian Federal University and governor of Krasnoyarsk Territory: „Happy Knowledge Day to everyone who studies, teaches, works at Siberian Federal University, and, of course, to those who first entered his united family. I think that in the new academic year, almost five thousand freshmen are ready to open wide horizons in study, creativity, and sports, with that courage of the youth. Dare, soar to new heights!

For all of us, 2020 has become a challenge and a time of non-standard solutions. But overcoming difficulties reveals the best traits of human nature and the strong suits of any team. We did a lot in this challenging year. On the eve of September 1, the youngest school of SibFU, the School of Gastronomy, celebrated the housewarming.

We have a lot of plans in different areas. Together we are moving forward, building up the scientific and educational potential of SibFU. Having decent indicators in the recruitment of students and the demand for the graduates, the university convincingly confirms its position in the twenty best universities in the country.

I sincerely wish the senior students personal growth and great achievements. And I am grateful to the staff of the university for your dedication.

A challenging, but eventful and interesting academic year is coming. May each of you go side by side with scientific and creative victories. I am convinced that everything achieved will be supported by the energy of your dreams, your discoveries. Be active, ambitious, set really high goals.

The World is changing. And we will change with the World, becoming stronger and better. All health, happiness, and good luck!“

Maksim Rumiantsev, rector of Siberian Federal University: „I congratulate you on the start of the new academic year!

New opportunities and prospects, with which the holiday of September 1 is always rightfully associated, got a new meaning in 2020. Having decently coped with the challenges of the pandemic, we looked at many things from a different angle: the education system, human relations, and ourselves. Our world has changed, and who else, if not the student community, should be at the forefront of the new era.

This September 1 is also special because we are finally returning to offline. Not completely, partly preserving distance learning, but still, the university is again a place of meeting.

I would also like to address the freshmen especially. I am sure that you have chosen your future profession in accordance with your vocation. The most important thing for you is to study well and improve in your chosen speciality, but do not forget that the university you entered is more than a university. The range of competencies that you can get here is much wider than the area of study you have chosen. Here you can try your hand at various fields of culture and sports, learn a foreign language or launch your own startup, become a volunteer or mentor for those who come to the first year after you. Anyway, remember that student time is priceless. University friends are friends for life. So is the university. Even after receiving your degree, you can return here as an equal partner or for new knowledge. Here you will always be welcomed!“
