Digital projects of students of the School of Philology and Language Communication take the pedestal of the competition for the promotion of territories

Three multimedia projects of students of the School of Philology and Language Communication, Siberian Federal University, created in collaboration with cultural institutions of the city of Krasnoyarsk to popularize the culture of Krasnoyarsk Territory, became the absolute winners of the Space for Participation 2020 competition held by HSE.

1st place: Surikov. Digital Biography. is an interactive map of the artist's travels in Russia. Each point is associated with paintings or sketches by Surikov. The map illustrates how the places he visited were reflected in his work. Project team: Evgeniya Shilova, Arina Tarasova, Alexandra Kiselyova, Ivan Marchenko. Project partner: V. I. Surikov Museum-homestead;

2nd place: Krasnoyarsk Republic: City-State. Project team: Daniil Rempel, Elena Kuzmik, Vasilina Kalyuzhina, Anastasia Sosnovskaya, Iolanta Drykova. A fictionalized story about a half-forgotten attempt to create the Krasnoyarsk Republic in December 1905. The core of the project is a diary of a generalized character participating in the events, background is historical photographs, documents, publications. The diary entries have been voiced and will become a separate podcast in the future. Project partner: Krasnoyarsk Regional Museum of Local Lore;

3rd place: Russia through the eyes of Surikov. The project was prepared under the aegis of the 15th Winter Surikov Festival of Arts and includes two audio guides (for adults and for children), a map of places visited by the artist in Krasnoyarsk and a screen–life series about the artist's biography. All this is placed in a special web application created by the students. Project team: Anna Ivanova, Anastasia Askarova, Sofia Vakhrusheva, Ulyana Mikhailenko. Project partner: V. I. Surikov Museum-homestead.

Curators of digital extensions and co-producers were Olesya Boguslavskaya and Daria Ustyuzhanina, senior lecturers of the Department of Journalism and Literary Studies of the School.

As an incentive, all winners have been invited to a Digital Storytelling in Creative Industries online school. Speakers of the school will be Anna Kolchina (producer of the COSMOS studio, screenwriter, director), Fyokla Tolstaya (TV and radio presenter, deputy director for development of the Leo Tolstoy State Museum), Mikhail Zygar (head of the History of the Future creative studio, journalist, writer, director, producer), Asya Terekhova (editor and creator of the Arzamas Children's Room) and others.
The competition was supported by the Potanin's Foundation and embraced 35 university production teams and their partners: museums, research institutes, libraries, theatres, archives, charitable and sports organizations of Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, St. Petersburg.
