Within the internship, SibFU students contributed to digitalization and creation of 3D models of the exhibits from the State Hermitage Museum. This project is intended to facilitate the study of ancient artifacts in more detail and from anywhere in the world. The portal of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education made a publication about the internship.

The annual International Russian Language Summer School was held at the School of Philology and Language Communication and received 35 students from Spain, Italy, China, Iran, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. The students had their classes within two weeks, from 11 to 23 July 2022.

Scientists from Siberian Federal University as part of an international research team have for the first time experimentally discovered a chiral Tamm plasmon polariton which is localized at the interface between a cholesteric liquid crystal and a metasurface. Based on the discovered effect, it is possible to construct a whole new range of photonics devices, in particular, bio- and temperature sensors that will allow obtaining home analysis data, as well as laser radars and microlasers with a “twisted” beam.

Participants of the Summer University international educational project have visited the largest industrial enterprises of Krasnoyarsk. As part of the educational program, visiting students study global entrepreneurship both online and offline and the ESG transformation of the economy.

Scientists have developed a new convolutional neural network (CNN) capable of recognizing images of handwritten letters with high accuracy. The resulting algorithm transforms the image and recognizes the letter encrypted in it. According to the scientists, the algorithm’s accuracy is 99 %.

Anastasia Askarova, a graduate of the Journalism department of Siberian Federal University, created Surikov Aloud, an inclusive educational media project, as part of her thesis. This is an interactive video tour across the permanent exhibition of the Vasily Surikov Estate Museum, which will allow hard of hearing to learn more about the artist’s life and work.

Scientists and students of the School of Ecology and Geography of SibFU do a comprehensive research on the restoration of forest ecosystems of the northern taiga after fires. The results of their studies will help to predict changes in the high-latitude ecosystems of the Northern Hemisphere under the changing climate.

A team of young scientists from SibFU is developing an app that will help people with complex motor aphasia to restore their verbal skills either on their own or with their relatives’ assistance.
