As the British Times Higher Education (THE) states, Siberian Federal University strengthened its position in two THE Subject Rankings — Engineering and Life Sciences.

The scientists of School of Petroleum and Gas Engineering together with the employees of Sibir-Tehnologiya-Service company have developed a device for thermochemical treatment of wells. The development solves an oil and gas industry’s urgent problem — well repair complicated by paraffin hydrate sediments.

Selenium is considered to be a vital trace element, it is found in many living organisms, in particular, in humans, where its proportion is about 20 mg. Depending on the forms of occurrence and concentration in natural objects, selenium being a nonmetal named after the Moon (from Greek Selene) has a dual effect on living organisms and human health.

The grand opening of the city-farming laboratory of the School of Gastronomy took place at Siberian Federal University on 12 October 2022. The presentation of the laboratory was held within the framework of the first Russian Gastronomic Forum (Gastro Forum 2022).

On 14 October, 2022, the opening ceremony of the IV Mediation in Education: Socio-Cultural Context International Conference took place at Siberian Federal University. The event is held by School of Education, Psychology and Sociology with the assistance of the Krasnoyarsk Regional Fund of Support of Scientific Activities.

As part of a business trip to the Sirius Federal Territory, Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, summed up the results of the II International Financial Security Olympiad. The Olympiad is held annually on behalf of Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, and Siberian Federal University acts as one of its organizers.

On 10-13 October 2022x Siberian Federal University hosted a delegation from the International University of Tourism and Hospitality (Kazakhstan). The guests toured the campus and visited Gastro Forum 2022. They also met the vice-rector and school directors and signed an agreement on for scientific and educational cooperation.

Scientists working at Gastronomic R&D Park under Priority 2030 program presented their developments in the field of food engineering. They are aimed at strengthening food security and technological sovereignty of Russia.

On 11–12 October 2022, Krasnoyarsk hosts the first Russian Gastro Forum 2022, where 30 experts, including restaurateurs, chefs, producers, scientists and more than 400 guests take part.

On 7 October 2022, startupers and management of Siberian Federal University held a meeting at Истории student restaurant. Young entrepreneurs spoke about the technological projects that they are implementing, and also offered their ideas for the development of the university's campus. The business breakfast was organized within the framework of the Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship federal project and the Startup Academy of the Gastronomic R&D Park strategic project.
