Two new grants of the total amount of 13 million roubles were received by SibFU's researchers in the frames of the Federal Programme 'Priority research to develop Russian science and technology, 2007-2013'. The funding was received in June 2013.

Anna Shumilova, doctoral student from the Institute of Fundamental Biology and Biotecnology, SibFU, spoke about her project on 3 June 2013. The project has won the start up ring of innovative projects and business ideas among SibFU's undergraduates and doctoral students. It is about applying biological polimers to bone grafting.

The VI session of the UN Krasnoyarsk model opened on 29 May 2013. It was combined with a full day of workshops and mini lectures on diplomacy and international relations.

Ryuichi Kizumi from Nikken Sekkei, Japan, spoke about planning a 'smart city' at SibFU on 21 May 2013. The lecture was a follow up of an agreement made in Japan in 2013 when a delegation from Krasnoyarsk visited Japan.

Ludmila Burakova, senior researcher from the Laboratory of Photobiology at the Institute of Biophysics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch, will give a public lecture on the scientific mystery of living light on 17 May 2013.

Vasily Nikulenkov, the organizer of the UN Krasnoyarsk model and Director of Geopolitics Centre at the International Department, was interviewed by the UN Radio, New York, in May 2013. He spoke about young people in Russia and their participation in creating the UN model.

The representatives of Nikken Sekkei LTD visited SibFU on 26 April 2013. The parties discussed collaboration perspectives: public lectures for SibFU's students and the possibility of internships at the Japanese company.

Ten Mongolian engineers will be attending a ten week training course at Polytechnic Institute, SibFU. The training will be undertaken at the Centre of Training, Retraining and Accreditation.

SibFU's Digital Library project won the the first National Competition of Library Innovation. The competition results were announced at the Russian National Library in Moscow on 16 April 2013.

The delegation from Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland) visited SibFU on 17 April 2013. According to LTU's Vice Rector (Research and Collaboration with Russia), collaboration with Russian universities is among LTU's top priorities. However, LTU's representatives visits have been previously restricted to the European part of this country.
