The aim of the project was to make the estimate of carbon budget of Central Siberia based on a complex multi-disciplinary study of the hydrobiogeochemistry of the Yenisey river basin. During the field seasons of 2011 and 2012 a series of different scale expeditions have been held. Two main field campaigns were the hydrobiological boat trip along the Yenissey river and a grid-based land inventory. All the field work yielded in a comprehensive database and multiple sets of samples that are being processed currently. Leading scientist is Prof. Dr. Ernst-Detlef Schulze, Professor Emeritus (former head) of the Max-Planck-Institute for Biogeochemistry.
