Siberian Federal University

Siberian Federal University is located in Krasnoyarsk — the largest cultural, economic and educational centre of Eastern Siberia and is the administrative centre of Krasnoyarsk Territory (the second largest subject of Russia). The city is situated on the banks of the Yenisey River, one of the largest rivers in the world which runs for almost 3.5 thousand kilometers. The local climate is sharply continental with average minus 19.2 °C (minus 2.6°F) in winter and plus 25.2°C (77.4°F) in summer. Most of the territory of Siberian Federal University is located in a forested area of the city of Krasnoyarsk, neighboring Krasnoyarsk Research Centre of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Students and staff enjoy walking in Gremyachaya Griva Ecopark or workout at the sports facilities of the University located in the surroundings and on-campus.

Siberian Federal University occupies a special place in the development plans of Krasnoyarsk Territory. Krasnoyarsk intellectual centre needed an appropriate infrastructure giving the impetus to the development of the campus which now is about 650 hectares; the venue includes 26 study and laboratory blocks and 29 dormitories. Some of them have been built with an active participation of private business and Krasnoyarsk Territory Administration. In 2008, the Library of SibFU opened its doors to the general public. Now the Library users have access to more than 50 million electronic books and documents, and it is connected to 100% schools and colleges of Krasnoyarsk Territory.

International Students Dormitories

Is there a dormitory for international students at the university?	Three dormitory types are available: apartment-type (single, double, triple rooms), section-type or corridor-type.
Are dormitories far from academic buildings?	All dormitories are situated near the academic buildings.
How many people live in one room?	2-3 people.
Where are the facilities situated (shower, WC)?	The shower/toilet amenities are situated apartment-type dormitory – in each room; section-type dormitory – in each section; corridor-type dormitory – on each floor.
Where is the kitchen situated? Is it equipped with home appliances and utensils?	The kitchen is situated in/on and equipped with the following: apartment-type dormitory – in each room, equipped with electric stove and refrigerator; section-type dormitory – in each section, equipped with electric stove; corridor-style dormitory – on each floor, equipped with electric stove.
What does the university provide for students when they move in?	After settling in, all necessary furniture, as well as bedding sets, a pillow, a mattress, a blanket, a bedspread and two towels are provided.
Is there Wi-Fi in the dormitory?	All rooms in the student dormitory have the Internet access which costs 250 RUB per month.
Does the dorm building have additional facilities?	Dorms have dining rooms, laundries, gyms, a common room and assembly halls as well. All of them are free for students.
What is the monthly fee for dormitory?	The accommodation fee ranges from 594 to 933 RUR per month depending on the dormitory style.
