Why Siberian Federal University?

Today Siberian Federal University (SibFU) has over 35,000 students enrolled in 122 educational programmes in 50 professional fields. It is one of the largest universities in Siberia and one of the most actively developing universities in Russia. The educational process at SibFU is based on the international standards. Bachelor and Master degree programmes have been implemented in compliance with the Bologna system. Certified holder of a Master’s degree can take a Ph. D. course. All Siberian Federal University degree programmes are state accredited, many of them have international accreditation.

SibFU maintains “Double degree” programmes with European, Asian and American universities. According to various educational and cultural exchange programmes, hundreds of international students study at SibFU and hundreds of SibFU students study abroad.

Our students have an opportunity to attend lectures of the world-level specialists. Annually more than 200 visiting professors – leading scientists from the UK, Germany, Spain and the USA – deliver their lectures at SibFU. The University is a winner of the Russian Government grants supporting research projects under the guidance of top-level scholars from Russia and all over the world.

With the support of the Russian Government the electronic library and the centers of multiple access with the unique equipment have been established. There are supercomputer, observatory, and a complex of physical and chemical research laboratories, biotechnological lab, clinico-biological lab and the laboratory of nanotechnology.

Why Krasnoyarsk?

Krasnoyarsk is the administrative capital of Krasnoyarsky krai – second largest region of Russia. It is a big industrial and educational centre with a population of more than 1 million people, and also an important junction of the Trans-Siberian Railway.

The city is located on the banks of the great Yenisey River in the valley formed by the Eastern Sayan Mountains. The Krasnoyarsk Stolby (“Pillars”) State Nature Reserve has become the city’s landmark.

Krasnoyarsk land gave birth to many famous people, among them are an artist Vasily Surikov, opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky, biathlete Evgeny Ustyugov, skeletonist Alexander Tretyakov and an ice-hockey player Alexander Semin.

Krasnoyarsk is a host-city of XXIX World Winter Universiade 2019.
