SibFU Wins a Grant from the Ministry of Education of Russia

The faculty of the School of Philology and Language Communication has won the competition of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in the category of Development of Centres for Open Education in Russian and Teaching Russian in the Russian Federation.

In autumn 2020, within the framework of a grant, the School founded Sibir.ru Center for Open Education in Russian, whose activities are aimed at popularizing the Russian language and Russian culture. The Centre offered online courses, master classes and games on regional studies of Russia, literature, Russian language, music, and art for foreign students. More than 1000 people from 50 countries attended the events of the Centre.

This academic year, the Centre will continue its work and organize preparation for state testing in Russian as a foreign language, as well as classes in regional studies of Krasnoyarsk Territory and listening. It is planned to publish textbooks for these courses. Also, course participants will be able to take an exam in Russian as a foreign language and receive a state-recognized certificate.

“At the beginning of this academic year, Siberian Federal University reached a new level of interaction with Rossotrudnichestvo. At a meeting with Yevgeny Primakov, head of Rossotrudnichestvo, we signed an important agreement to consolidate efforts to promote Russian education abroad. The activities of the School of Philology and Language Communication, including Sibir.ru project, fully correspond to the goals of this joint work, and the fact that we become grant holders for the second year in a row proves the effectiveness of our work,” stressed director of the School Lyudmila Kulikova.
