SibFU's faculty and students receive a grant to study bankruptcy

SibFU's project 'Insolvency (bankruptcy) institutions in Russia, Germany and the USA: comparative studies and legal issues' won the national competition 'Research and teaching in innovative Russia' for 2009-2013.

The competition arranged by the RF Ministry of Education and Research in the field of legal and political sciences involved 47 national tertiary institutions. Nine universities received financial support from the government.

The team leader is Dr Tatyana Shishmareva, Associate Professor from the Department of Civil Law, the Institute of Law, Siberian Federal University. The team includes Ruslan Faizullin, a doctoral student from the same department, and students Sofia Malysheva and Daniel Petrukh. The team will compare Russian, German and American legislation, legal practice and research in the field of insolvency (bankruptcy). They will also study the experience of applying insolvency legislation to individuals, consumers, companies and other debtors.

The dissemination of results will be in the form of research papers, text books, workshops and the defence of masters' dissertations and a doctoral thesis. The project is scheduled to last from 3 September 2012 to 15 November 2013.
