SibFU is among top web sites to present helpful information on studying for prospective students. The rating is based on the research results for monitoring the transparency of Russian tertiary educational institutions in 2012. The short list included 11 universities selected among 507 Russian tertiary educational institutions.

The rating of information accessibility for prospective students is the project of Russian News Agency and the Higher School of Economics. Assessment criteria were based on the governmental programmes of publishing information about an educational institution in the Internet.
