SibFU joins Russian-Chinese Association of Economic Universities

The Association aims at developing research and education in collaboration to support economic policy and economic development in Russia and China. Its co-founders are 25 universities and its activity is withinn the frames of the goverrnmental agreement between Russia and China. The agreement includes a planned increase of academic mobility by 2016 with the number of students reaching 100 000 students per year.

The Association members plan to develop academic exchange, share research information, host joint research and conferences, and develop mutually beneficial projects.

SibFU's delegation at the Association's opening included the university's Provost and Vice Rector (Economic Development) Pavel Vcherashny, Director of the Institute of Trade and Economics Yury Alexandrov, Director of the Institute of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies Eugenia Bukharova, and Director of the Institute of Business Management and Economics Zoe Vasilieva.

Pavel Vcherashny, the delegation head, spoke about the importance of Siberia in developing global economy. He also spoke about Siberian 'growth points', Krasnoyarsk krai's national projects in energy supply, oil and gas, education and research. Pavel Vcherashny spoke about the demand for skilled labour and he outlined the directions of collaboration between SibFU and Chinese universities.
