Tuomo Summanen, an expert in Russian economy, visits SibFU

Tuomo Summanen, an expert in Russian economy and adviser to Rectors of Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland), visited SibFU on 26 February 2014. The meeting was a part of XI Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

Dr Summanen and SibFU's Rector Academician Vaganov discussed collaboration between two universities. It is the third visit of the delegates from Lappeeranta University of Technology to SibFU. Earlier, the representatives of a leading Finnish university visited SibFU to sign a general agreement. The last visit specified some parts of the agreement.

«Lappeeranta University of Technology has good working relationships with Russian universities. Now it is time to deepen and specify these relationships. This may include double degree programmes», — Dr Summanen said.

Collaboration discussed during the meeting includes academic exchange, internships and research in energetics and environmental studies.

According to Eugene Vaganov, Lappeeranta University of Technology is among SibFU's international strategic partners. SibFU has research laboratories and research directions that interest SibFU's Finnish colleagues.

«Finnish experience in 'green' energetics, building environmentally-friendly cities and working on the programmes of nature protection can be interesting to SibFU's researchers and it can be demanded in Russia», — Eugene Vaganov said.
