Firs, the Forum attendees visited SibFU's Japanese Centre with its magnificent library in various languages, a collection of exhibits on Japan, and a collection of audio and video files.

Delegates from Japan had a meeting with Sergey Verkhovets, Vice Rector (Research and International Affairs). They discussed their plans related to further collaboration.

«Although the two countries has not yet resolved some issues, Japan intends to actively collaborate with Russia in research and education. Universities are gates and mediators in developing collaboration between nations», — Kyoichiro Kawakami said.

Collaboration between Krasnoyarsk and Japanese research institutes/educational organizations has become more intensive since 2012. A group of drummers from Toyota City visited Krasnoyarsk. Nagoya City hosted an exhibition of Krasnoyarsk children's drawings. The events were organized with the participation of of SibFU's Japanese Centre. SibFU and several Japanese universities signed collaboration agreements that include academic exchange and joint research.

Building additional university connections can seriously promote the region and enhance social and economic outcomes: they can attract Japanese investments to national industries and they can open new markets in Japan. Taking into account our experience of building connections with Aichi province we are ready to make unique proposals to research institutes, educational organizations and NGOs of other provinces. In particular, we are ready to work in agriculture and other industries».
