SibFU's Law School confirms its status of an excellent international law school

SibFU's team is ranked 2nd in the International Hardy Cross Dillard Memorial Competition. This has been the best result for a Russian team since the first competition.

According to Irina Shishko, Director, Law School, Hardy C. Dillard Award for Best Combined Memorials of the National & Regional Rounds Competition was a part of Jessup Competition, a major international competition in international public law.

«Preparing and writing the memorials takes months of hard work. The teams perform the legal analysis of numerous cases from national and international courts, they evaluate international agreements and national laws, they study papers on the important problems of contemporary international law , — Irina Shishko says. — The study results in a 70 page document to focus on what parties have to say on the case in the competition. The legal conclusions are supported by evidence from legal sources».

Each applicant was assessed by a group of independent judges. The five teams with the largest number of points received the awards.

SibFU's attending the competition was a result of the university's team winning at the national competition stage. The documents written by the team were ranked 14th in the international ranking.

SibFU's team included Tatiana Pronina, Assistant Professor from the Department of International Law and Comparative Law Studies, Alexey Bulatov, Law School's graduate, fifth year students Anastasia Kachanova, Xenia Gulyaeva, Olga, Korolyova and third year student Irina Balaganskaya.
