International experts approve Universiade 2019 Draft Masterplan

Draft Masterplan to prepare for the XXIX World Winter Universiade 2019 was approved by the international expert group in Lausanne (Switzerland) on 27-28 August 2014.

Draft Masterplan was prepared by SibFU's working group and it was initiated by Krasnoyarsk krai's Governor. SibFU is the main partner of the Universiade's Executive Board. The agreement to this end was signed in June 2014.

Masterplan includes a detailed roadmap for events: preparation stages, management system, time constraints, activities, risk assessment and risk prevention measures, budget planning that includes allocating resources and staff.

Roman Shorokhov, SibFU's Vice Rector (Universiade Project Management), says it is a lengthy text and the university team had worked hard for more than a month to prepare Masterplan: «Masterplan meets the requirements of the International University Sports Federation. It includes 53 activities to solve particular management tasks. Approaching each task results in building the Key Interface with a matrix for function interaction».

«The experts were of quite a good opinion when assessing the project. They liked how we approached its strategic part», — Roman Shorokhov says.

Masterplan will be further developed and the experts' recommendations will be taken into consideration. The same group of experts reviewed the Masterplan for managing Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Roman Shorokhov says.

Draft Masterplan 1.0 will be presented in October at the FISU's Executive Committee meeting in Brussels.
