Siberian Federal University summed up the results of the Postdoc Fellowship Program

Siberian Federal University has selected the Fellows for the Postdoc Program. Thirty-one candidates applied for the selection. The results were announced on March 11, 2016 during the meeting of the Selection Committee under the leadership of Eugene Vaganov, the rector of SibFU.

As Eugene explained, the purpose of the Postdoc Program is to encourage young researchers with PhD Degree or Candidates of Sciences to contribute to the University research and education activities.

“The Selection accepted applications from young scientists working in areas identified in the Program to enhance international competitiveness of the University and Development Program of SibFU for 2011-2021. The requirements for the candidates were strict, for instance, publications in high-rated scientific journals (indexed in Web of Science or Scopus), but at the same time the conditions the university offered were good. It is not only and not so much about the salary, but about the opportunity to work on the unique equipment and under the guidance of scientists known in their field well beyond Russia. As practice shows, this is the main motivation for a young scientist, who decided to go to a Siberian university, — said Eugene VaganovSibFU will sign three-year contracts of specific work with the selected candidates.”
