President Putin visited Siberian Federal University on November 13. He was accompanied by Dmitry Medvedev, first deputy prime-minister, and Alexei Kudrin, vice prime-minister and minister of finance.

The university’s rector Eugene A. Vaganov reported on the current state of university development and its future.

President believes that Russian universities need to have close contacts with international universities and to attract visiting professors.

The President’s sees the university’s goal as making the university responsive to labour market demands and to supply skilled workers able to satisfy the demand.
