The SIBFU's Gastro Park presented at the international level

Gastronomic R&D Park, a strategic project of Siberian Federal University, was presented at the RosBioTech 15th International Biotechnology Forum in Moscow.

RosBioTech is a platform for expert dialogue in the field of medical, food and agro-industrial biotechnologies. This year, the forum was attended by speakers from China, Mongolia, Belarus, India, Iran, Azerbaijan, Syria, Vietnam and other countries. SibFU representatives took part in the work of the session on Modern Agrobiotechnologies to Improve the Quality and Safety of Agricultural Products. They showed the project of the university's hydroponic farm, where methods of sustainable cultivation, eco-friendly increase in yield and selection, and taste qualities of a local product will be piloted.

“The forum presents innovative projects on various topics, including R&Ds in the field of functional nutrition, food of the future and agrobiotechnologies. The city farming and vertical farming project presented has aroused keen interest among the scientific community and the industry. We presented an interdisciplinary platform that unites and promotes the developments of SibFU researchers, has industrial partners and is ready to meet the challenges of the FoodNet food industry market,” said Anna Sukhanova, manager of the project of an automated farm at Siberian Federal University.

Natalya Bakhova, deputy director for research of the SibFU's School of Gastronomy and head of the Gastronomic R&D-Park strategic project, visited the Moscow State University of Food Production within the framework of the forum. The purpose of the visit was to search for points of contact for joint development of fundamental research in the domain of food industry. At the meeting, the parties came to an agreement to establish cooperation in the field of biotechnological methods for processing food raw materials into innovative foods. They also decided to cooperate in the field of physical, chemical and sensory analysis of products and joint work in the scientific field.

“The planned collaboration between our School and the Moscow State University of Food Production is a unique experience of cooperation that will significantly increase the science intensity of the Gastronomic R&D Park in terms of organizing academic and industrial internships, developing advanced technologies, organizing and implementing interdisciplinary educational programs, including further education,” Ms Bakhova commented on the results of the forum.
