Digital Department: Professional Retraining in IT

Within Priority 2030 program, Siberian Federal University launches a curious project — Digital Departments, providing bachelor’s (during 2nd-5th years of study) and master’s students with the opportunity to apply and get extra qualification in IT.

SibFU jointly with industrial partners developed four training programs with expertise assessment and internships in Innopolis University. The program takes 15 months (256 academic hours) to master, which means about 4-6 hours a week. The training is carried out online, and the training materials are available 24/7. Mind that the courses start in the second half of September, and the number of places is limited.

“If a student didn’t manage to attend a lecture or submit the homework on time, they will still have a chance to do it later,” comments Anastasia Raskina, assistant professor and supervisor of the project, SibFU School of Space and Information Technologies. “We adopted the best aspects of fundamental education and mass online courses, so the whole training process is organized with maximum care, which means that students will always be able to get a feedback, assistance, and support from the lecturers.”
