The 3rd International Congress-Exhibition «Global Education - 2009» was held in April 15 - 17, 2009 in the International Exhibition Centre «Crocus Expo» (Moscow).

The International Congress-Exhibition «Global education – 2009» is the pre-eminent annual exhibition project for professionals and specialists in the field of education, for consumers and producers of educational services. It includes the congress, exhibition, “exhibition-in-exhibition” project – “The school 2020” and interactive projects.

The initiators of the Event were: the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Federal Education Agency of the Russian Education, Concord group.

The Congress-Exhibition aimed at facilitating the Russian educational system modernization by means of:

• demonstration the brand new educational forms and methods,
• innovative and integrating process in the sphere of education,
• collaboration with foreign education institutions,
• integration to the world educational environment.

Siberian Federal University was represented by: Alexei N. Shniperov, Boris M. Bidus (Information and Telecommunication Complex), Anna R. Semenova (Institute of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies), Irina D. Mishina (Law Institute) and Irina Rybnikova (Humanitarian Institute).
Education programmes, innovative projects in the field of education, e-learning facilities, the newest teaching materials and also scientific publications were presented in the exhibition booth of Siberian Federal University within the framework of the Congress.
The Competition of innovative projects «Global Education-2009» was the major Event of the Congress-Exhibition. It was organized with the aim of defining and encouraging the best innovative projects which increase quality and competitiveness of the Russian education. The main concepts (nominations) of the Competition were: entry-level professional education and higher professional education; higher and additional professional education; educational process supply, equipment and infrastructure. Three projects were presented by the staff of Siberian Federal University. Information and Telecommunication Complex presented the project called «Technology of implementation systematically-based innovative teaching materials with integrated system of automated laboratory research into the system of multi-level education» in the competition nomination «Educational Process Supply, Equipment and Infrastructure». Institute of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies presented the project called «The usage of the interactive-program complex of e-libraries of Siberian Federal University in education process for students of economic specialties». Humanitarian Institute presented the project called «e-encyclopedia «Siberian Ethnic Communities». Irina D. Mishina, Head of Comparative Jurisprudence Division, made a report on the conference held within the framework of the Congress-Exhibition. The project «Technology of implementation systematically-based innovative teaching materials with integrated system of automated laboratory research into the system of multi-level education» became a winner in its nomination and was awarded with the honorable laureate certificate by results of the teamwork in the exhibition booth and defense of the project before the competition committee. The projects of Institute of Economics, Management and Environmental Studies and Humanitarian Institute were awarded with the certificates of participation in the exhibition. Traditionally, exhibition projects were assessed by the following criteria: effectiveness of implemented projects, quality of project defense before the competition committee, availability of actual examples, models and illustrations.
The University was awarded with the diploma from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and with the letter of appreciation in the name of the Committee of State Duma for the active work of the whole delegation of Siberian Federal University.
