The major project of Siberian Federal University, the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences and Creative Industries Agency

The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation (The Charitable Foundation for Cultural Initiatives) supported the SibFU project called «Open University: Modern Humanities as a Factor of Social Change».
It’s the joint project of Siberian Federal University, the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences and Creative Industries Agency (Moscow).
Amount of financing– 3 000 000 rubles.
The project was elaborated due to growing significance of applied humanitarian research in forming appealing investment climate of regions. It is also committed to develop social compliance and improve educational system.
The project is premised on public lectures and master-classes conducted by the well-known visiting lecturers – experts in the field of creative industries and creative economics. New teaching courses for humanitarian university departments will be launched in accordance with the project.
Leading scientists will visit Krasnoyarsk within the framework of project realization:

  • Justin O’Connor, Professor of the University of Queensland (Australia), Expert in the field of cultural policy and creative industries will conduct the lecture called «Creative industries – historical and cultural foundations».
  • Tom Fleming, Director of Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy (Great Britain), Expert in the field of creative industries will conduct the lecture called «Cultural industries as a new type of socio-cultural practice».
  • Kate Oakley, Professor of the City University of London, Expert in the field of city development and creative industries will conduct the lecture called «The role of culture in city development».
  • John Hawkins, Professor of «The School of Creativity» (China), Author of the book called «Creative Economics» will conduct the lecture called «Creativity as a key to development».

Foreign experts are expected to make all necessary contributions to elaborate new courses corresponding to international standards. The results of collaboration will be very important for establishing the strategy of cultural policy on the territory of Krasnoyarsk Region.
