The most ambitious educational project in the world called «The network-based University of SCO - countries» is on the run.

Russian universities and universities of other countries participated in the open contest of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The contest was held in the following nominations: «regional studies», «ecology», «power-engineering», «information technology» and «nano-technologies». Any Russian university could apply for the contest but only in one nomination.

Siberian Federal University took part in the nomination «Ecology» and became one of its winners.

By winning the contest, SibFU gains splendid opportunities in terms of international education and cooperation with Russian and Asian universities. Master’s programmes in «Ecology» will be coordinated in 2009-2010.
