Women’s SibFU team on the 7th European Universities Football Championship

Women’s SibFU team presented Russia in the 7th European Universities Football Championship held on July 20-26, 2009 in Wroclaw (Poland). 14 men and 7 women university teams from different countries showed their willingness to win. The winners of the Championship were as follows:

1st place – Autonomia de Madrid (ESP)

2nd place – University of Montpellier (FRA)

3rd place – University School of Physical Education (POL)

4th place – Siberian Federal University Krasnoyarsk (RUS)

5th place – University of Valencia (ESP)

6th place – ETH Zurich (SUI)

7th place – University of Cyprus (CYP)

Women’s SibFU team presented Russia in the international Championship for the first time. Although women’s SibFU team failed to win bronze medal match with the women’s university team from Poland, SibFU football-players undoubtedly reached the main goal of their first international championship – non-qualifying participation in the football championship next year.
