Women and Men Judo World Cup was held on September 19 – 20, 2009 in Birmingham (England). More than 246 participants from 25 countries came to England to compete. Russian Men’s National Team comprised 14 best judoists of the country.
Dmitriy Sterkhov, Student of the SibFU Physical Education and Sports Department won gold medal in his weight division.
The Russian Men’s National Team placed third in overall standings by winning 3 gold medals, 1 silver and 3 bronze ones. The National Team failed to beat British judoists (4 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze) and French judoists (3 gold, 2 silver, 8 bronze).
