Chief executives to visit SibFU

Lev Kuznetsov, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Aleksander Uss, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory visited Siberian Federal University on March 5, 2010.
They looked over the constructing building of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering, e-library building and Center for equipment joint use and took part in the business meeting with the SibFU Senior Management.
The new building of the SibFU Institute of Petroleum Engineering is constructed with the assistance of Rosneft, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and local authorities. The total cost of the project is more than 1 billion rubles. More than 200 million rubles were allocated from the SibFU Development Programme to order and obtain the unique equipment and facilities for the university laboratories. The construction of the building was set up on June 1, 2009 and it is expected to be set into operation by August 1, 2010. Lev Kuznetsov noted the rapid pace of the construction.
E-library building is also planned to be set into operation by August 1, 2010. It is considered to be one of the most complex and great projects of Siberian Federal University. Chief executives noted the significance of the project for the Krasnoyarsk territory. They were also interested in issues concerning accessibility and convenience of e-library needed for users i.e. mother-and-child rooms organized for young families, vast parking space, special elevators and moving ramps for disabled people.

The last place for visiting was the Center for equipment joint use. It was established in 2007 in accordance with the SibFU Development Programme. Chief executives visited 3 out of 14 R&D laboratories, examined equipment and got an insight into the research results made by the Center’s staff by order of Siberian Federal University and outside organizations. Among the research results are: water quality monitoring of the Enisey-river, petroleum quality control of Achinsk oil-processing plant and nano-structures research ordered by Krasnoyarsk State Medical University. The Governor evaluated the amount of work done during the 3-year period and suggested to define new priorities in terms of rapidly-changing economic situation in the region and the country in the SibFU Development programme 2011-2012.
