Siberian Federal University

Delegation of Siberian Federal University led by Andrey A. Uzhva, Head of the Centre for the SCO and APR Strategic Studies visited Kyrgyz-Uzbek University (Osh city, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan) and Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Iskhak Razzakov (Bishkek, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan) on March 21-27, 2010 to develop cooperation between the SibFU and educational institutions of the SCO states.

The Representative Office of Siberian Federal University was officially opened in Kyrgyz-Uzbek University on March 22, 2010. Muhamadzhan Ziganshin, Russia's consul general to Osh, Anvarzhan Ismanzhanov, Rector of Kyrgyz-Uzbek University, the Senior Management of the University, Kyrgystan government officials and local mass media attended the opening ceremony.

The SibFU Representative Office is aimed at organizing admission campaign for students from Kyrgystan and Uzbekistan to enter Siberian Federal University (including Graduate and Postgraduate courses) as well as carrying out joint R&D projects with Kyrgyz scientists. The initiative to establish the SibFU Representative Office was approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Consulate General of the RF in Osh city and the Senior Management of Kyrgyz-Uzbek University. Local mass media covered the news about the SibFU Representative Office in the series of reports in Russian and Kirghiz.

At the present moment, the SibFU Representative Office is fully functioning and launching admission campaign for prospective students of Siberian Federal University.

After the opening ceremony, the mathematical competition was held for graduating high school students. The winners of the competition will get a splendid opportunity to study free of charge in Siberian Federal University.
