SibFU to enhance its scientific cooperation with French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA)
French delegation led by Guy Riba, Vice-President of INRA and Lidiya Shavinskaya, Responsible Executive for Scientific Cooperation with Russia and CIS countries visited Siberian Federal University on June 14-15, 2010 to strengthen international cooperation and develop joint R&D projects on priority areas such as Ecology, Adaptation of Natural and Man-made Ecosystems to Climatic Changes, Complex Approach to Fundamental Biology.
On June 15, 2010, the delegates held official meeting with Evgeny A. Vaganov, SibFU Rector, Sergey V. Verkhovets, First Vice-Rector - Research and International Affairs and participants of the Rector’s scientific school.
The following issues have been considered during the meeting:
- To define the areas of research:
Global and Regional Ecology, Modeling
Soil Carbon Content, Soil Characteristics
Permanent Frost, Greenhouse Gases and Isotopic Composition in terms of Climatic Changes
Reaction of Forest Ecosystems on Global Climatic Changes
- To hold a Workshop – 2011 and attract experts in climatic changes research and evaluation of their impact on ecosystems of different levels;
- To develop joint interdisciplinary international projects;
- To raise funding from different sources (Russian Federal Property Fund, the European Union framework seven (FP7) research programme, etc.).
