Siberian Federal University to sign the Donation Agreement with TOKYO BOEKI CIS Ltd.

Evgeny A. Vaganov, SibFU Rector held the meeting with Uchida Kadzuei, President of Tokyo Boeki CIS Ltd. on July 17, 2010.

Tokyo Boeki CIS Ltd. represents the leading Japanese producers supplying scientific and analytical equipment: JEOL, Nikon, Rigaku, SPSS, etc. The Company also provides delivery and guarantee maintenance of Oxford Instruments, Gatan, Katsuragawa Electric and Plextor equipment, etc. in Russia. TOKYO BOEKI CIS Ltd. consists of 18 companies with a worldwide network in Japan, the USA, Australia, Korea, China, Russia, etc.

It is necessary to recall that it is not the first visit of the representatives of the Tokyo Boeki CIS Ltd. to Siberian Federal University. The Company supplied the SibFU Centre for equipment joint use with the electronic microscopy equipment. It also has been awarding students, graduate students and young scientists with scholarships for using the electronic microscopy equipment in scientific purposes for several years.

During the meeting, Evgeny A. Vaganov told Uchida Kadzuei about the changes faced by the University since his last visit and plans to invite the leading scientists from Kyoto University, Hokkaido University and Tsukuba R&D Centre to Siberian Federal University. Uchida Kadzuei told that Tokyo Boeki CIS Ltd. is organizing Russian-Japanese Scientific Conference on Nanotechnologies for young scientists which will be held on September 21-22, 2010. He invited SibFU scientists to take part in the Conference. Uchida Kadzuei pointed out that his company is interested in extending cooperation with the University and ready to collaborate with the SibFU in establishing joint enterprises working in the field pharmaceutical research.

At the end of the meeting both parties signed the Donation Agreement. In accordance with the Agreement, 8 best students, graduate students and young scientists of Faculties of Chemistry, Physics and others of Siberian Federal University will get eight named scholarships called «Tokyo Boeki Scholarship» for the best results at studies and scientific activities. Each scholarship is 15000 RF rubles. It will be nonrecurrently paid to each person during Autumn and Spring Terms 2010-2011.
