The Chapter of the International Law Students Association (ILSA) was opened in the SibFU Law Institute.

The ILSA Chapter is primarily aimed at providing students with opportunities to study, research, and network in the international legal arena. By joining the ILSA Chapter Membership, students will be able to explore and understand international and comparative law issues.

The following ILSA Chapter Membership benefits are available free of charge for students:

  • Publication of scientific works in the ILSA Quarterly;
  • Access to the international legal databases and journals;
  • Scholarships and Internships;
  • Participation in the ILSA international conferences;
  • ILSA sponsors support.

The International Law Students Association (ILSA) is a non-profit association of students and lawyers established in Washington DC in 1987. ILSA seeks to promote international law; to encourage communication and cooperation among students and lawyers internationally; to contribute to legal education; to promote social responsibility in the field of law; to increase opportunities for students to learn about other cultures and legal systems worldwide; and to publicize educational and career opportunities in international law.

ILSA organizes international conferences every year. It also globally administers the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Every year, thousands of students from more than 500 schools in over 80 countries participate, making the Jessup the largest moot court competition in the world.

It is necessary to recall that the team of the SibFU Law Institute joined the ranks of the top 50 teams of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition: Moscow State University (10th place), Saint Petersburg State University (37th place), Siberian Federal University (38th place), Russian Academy of Justice (47th place).
