Evgeny Vaganov, SibFU Rector took part in the procedure for signing an Agreement between rectors of higher educational institutions of the Krasnoyarsk territory and Mokpo National University in South Korea.

The Agreement included collaboration in various areas: internship courses, student academic exchange and joint research projects. The Parties discussed Engineering and IT issues on a priority basis. What’s more, the Agreement was launched to streamline joint academic research in the field of Maths, Physics and Biology.

Mokpo National University is famous for its R&D activities in Ecology, Power Engineering, Biology and Pharmacy. After signing the Agreement, Krasnoyarsk experts will get an access to the MNU R&D activities. They have already received the proposal to launch the far-reaching projects on developing newest Water and Heat Supply technologies in Korea.

Within the framework of the Agreement signed, the Parties discussed social issues i.e. civil society progress. When applying to the colleagues from South Korea, Evgeny Vaganov pointed out: «We are more interested in the collaboration than you are: the Krasnoyarsk territory has lots of issues to learn from Korea in terms of fighting corruption».

It is necessary to recall that Siberian Federal University has already signed the Agreements on cooperation with 4 universities of South Korea in the field of R&D, academic mobility and internship courses. The Korean division of the Department of East Asian Languages was opened in the SibFU Institute of Philology and Language Communication with the participation of the Chonbuk National University. The SibFU Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals and Materials Science and Institute of Engineering Physics and Radio Electronics are implementing the Agreement on R&D cooperation with School of Nano and Advanced Materials of the Chang Wang National University.
