Siberian Federal University

The Innovation Development Program was approved at the enlarged meeting of the Presidium of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) held on July 14, 2011.

The members of the presidium distinguished activities of the SB RAS institutions and R&D centers aimed at applying research results in innovations. The members also assessed the works launched to establish joint projects with reference to the technological platforms objectives, innovation development of state corporations and programs of social, economical and innovative development of the regions.

The Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences will develop several innovation trends as follows:

• Raw-materials base development, field development and complex raw materials processing;
• Technology of the hydrocarbon high-level processing;
• Engineering and power energetics;
• Nano-technologies and nano-materials;
• IT and tool engineering;
• Newest technologies in medicine and biotechnologies;
• Military and security fundamental research.

Siberian Federal University is already working in the research areas mentioned above. A number of projects won large state fellowships with contracts signed with different organizations and enterprises.

At the present moment, the University is elaborating a package of proposals which have all the chances to be included in the SB RAS Innovation Development Program.
