SibFU rugby team beat Oxford team in the friendly match 22:20 on September 21, 2011.

Valery Bagdasarov, coach of the SibFU rugby team believed that both teams were equally strong and well-prepared. He pointed out: «All our players showed the remarkable performance especially Vasiliy Dorofeev, the captain and Anton Ryabov. SibFU team was invited by the chief manager of the Oxford team to participate in the similar match next year».

Forty British students arrived in Siberia by the invitation of the Russian Rugby Union and the senior management of SibFU prior to the match with the Cambridge team. Oxford team also played with «Krasny Yar» rugby team and Achinsk team within the framework of the Siberian voyage.
