SibFU at the China education market

Siberian Federal University was awarded with the certificate of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the active participation in «China Education Expo 2011» held on October 15-16, 2011 in Beijing (China).

The united exhibition of the Russian higher educational institutions organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the first time comprised 26 education institutes. The Event offered a great platform for the attendees to source valuable information about study opportunities and scholarship programs from premier institutions.

Siberian Federal University was represented by Artem Shakhmatov, Head of the International Scientific and Educational Relations Division of the SibFU Department of International Affairs and Galina Sergomanova, Head of the Presentation and Exhibition Office of the SibFU Department of Corporate Policy. «Various education service providers of the USA, Germany, Spain, Japan, France, Australia, etc. displayed at the «China Education Expo 2011». They had a diverse range of educational courses. Their exhibition booths organized with the excellent advertisement campaign and Chinese volunteers involved attracted a large audience of people who’d like to study abroad. Our University is going to develop in the same direction», - said Artem Shakhmatov.


As Siberian Federal University has a great experience in providing education services for Chinese students, SibFU delegates accentuated on opportunities of enrollment to the SibFU at the exhibition. The presentation about engineering specialities including IT and Construction ones, the Russian Language courses and the «Ecology» speciality provided within the SCO university project was shown to the Chinese students. «Our University can be really attractive to the Chinese students because of geographical and transport availability of Krasnoyarsk. What’s more, tuition and accommodation fee is rather low in comparison with other international and Russian higher educational institutions», — pointed out Galina Sergomanova.

China Education Expo 2011 approved by Ministry of Education and sponsored by China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE), opened its door to all that wishing to study abroad on 15 October, 2011 and covered Beijing, Qingdao, Xi'an, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chengdu, Guangzhou.

China event viewed as an opportunity for overseas school to expand their presence in the world's potentially largest recruitment market, therefore was sponsored last year by 15 national pavilions including Australia, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, UK and the US, and some 530 overseas schools from 34 countries and regions attracted around 62,000 visitors in five cities across China.
