SibFU's library will become a hub for Siberian major universities. Viktor Tolokonsky, Special Representative of the Russian President for the Siberian Federal District, supported the proposal at a meeting with the SFD Rector Council members. The meeting was held in Novosibirsk on February 1, 2012.
One of the integration tools, he thinks, could be digitising SibFU's library assets to make them more accessible for the students of major Siberian universities. «Universities might integrate their resources and save on buying textbooks. Access to unique editions will be restricted but popular literature could be accessed via the Internet», — Viktor Tolokonsky said.
