SibFU to take part in IX Krasnoyarsk economic forum

SibFU's faculty members and staff will take part in the IX Krasnoyarsk economic forum 'Time for Strategic Initiatives' to be held in Krasnoyarsk from 16 to 18 February 2012.

The forum is organized by Krasnoyarsk Krai governement with the support from the government of the Russian Federation.

The forum is expected to involve national policy-makers, businesspersons and educationalists. The key themes of the forum will be strategic initiatives and promising projects to maintain the development of Russia and its regions.

The programme includes plenary discussions, round tables and lectures by the Russian and international experts in strategic and project management.

The forum will be hosted by two sites: 'Siberia' conference and exhibition centre and Siberian Federal University

Siberian Federal University will present seven regional technological projects at the exhibition 'Investment, innovation, infrastructure: Siberian future' on February, 16.

  • Energy, efficiency and energy consumption;
  • Innovative technologies of machine building;
  • Development and conservation of mineral resources;
  • Innovative technologies in metallurgy;
  • Innovative technologies in construction. New materials and innovative design;
  • ICT and space technologies for innovative development of Siberia;
  • Technologies of extracting and deep processing of hydrocarbon resources

Young people from Siberian Federal University will participate in the youth event 'Generation - 2020: University sports competition. The city of sport'. on February, 16. The event will attract over 600 young people, Russian and international experts in sport infrastructure, teaching and urban development.

SibFU's students and doctoral students will participate in the foresight session «Competence-2030» on February, 16. The session will be held by Dmitry Peskov, director of 'Young professionals' division at the Agency of strategic initiatives.

The discussion 'Education. Career directions for the young' will be held on February, 17. The participants will discuss the development of engineering education in Russia, career movements for labour market development. Organizers are Siberian Federal University and Skolkovo foundation.

Oleg Deripaska, RUSAL's CEO will nominate 35 gifted students to receive En+ Group scholarships on February, 17. He will also give a public lecture for students and staff.

SibFU's rector Eugene Vaganov will sign a collaboration agreement with 'Microsoft Rus' on February, 17.

February, 16 and 18 will be the days of public lectures by:

  • Dmitry Belousov, an expert at the Centre of Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecast;
  • Ekaterina Grishina, Director of open programmes at 'Strelka', the Institute of Media, Architecture and Design;
  • Arkady Dvorkovich, economic adviser to the Russian President;
  • Michael Kotuykov, Director, Department of Budget Policy in Social Care and Research, Ministry of Finance, RF;
  • Alexei Kudrin, Chair, Trustee Board, Egor Gaidar Institute of Economic Policy.
  • Vladimir MauВладимир Мау, rector, The Russian Presidebtial Academy of national Economy and Public Administration;
  • Alexander Novak, Deputy Minister of Finance, RF;
  • Vitaly Tretyakov, Dean, Higher School of Television, Moscow State University;
  • Sergey Khaprov, CEO, 'Astrarossa', Centre of Industrial Design and Innovation;
  • Petr Shedrovitsky, advisor of the General Director of Russia's state-owned Rosatom atomic energy group.
