Siberian Federal University signed a Three – Party Memorandum of Understanding with the Groupe des Ecoles de Mines (France) and the UC Rusal on April 4, 2011.

Agreement on strategic partnership was signed between Siberian Federal University and En+ Group on March 31, 2011.

Gudrun Steinacker, Consul General of Germany in Novosibirsk visited Siberian Federal University.

The VIII Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum was held in Krasnoyarsk on February 17 – 19, 2011. The Forum was organized by the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The Chairman of the Forum Organizing Committee was the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Minister of Finance, Alexey Kudrin.

The panel discussion on «Tertiary education modernization tools envisioned by the Federal Education Development Programme designed for the period ending in 2020» was held on February 17, 2011 in Siberian Federal University within the framework of the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum.

An enlarged meeting of the university experts with the representatives of JSC RusHydro was held at the Siberian Federal University.

On January 8-15,2011, The Ski-Orienteering Championship SKI-O-TOUR 2011 was held in Austria and Slovakia.

The SibFU newspaper «New University Life» became the winner of the journalism contest in the nomination «The Best In-house Publication». The results of the contest annually held by the Krasnoyarsk Regional Union of Journalists were declared at the traditional XVII Press Ball dedicated to the Day of Russian Press.
