Konstantin Zotov (Physical Education and Sports Department), Vladimir Nevrov (Polytechnic Institute), Andrew Arbuzov (Physical Education and Sports Department) and Ivan Usov (the SibFU coach) finished second in the 4х100 meter relay squad in the National Swimming Championship which was held in April 26, 2009 in Moscow.

Enzo Orsingher, well-known Italian Scholar, Mathematician and Professor of Department of Statistics, Probability and Applied Statistics of «La Sapienza» (University of Rome, Italy) held the lecture called «Stochastic Processes in non-Euclidean Spaces» in April 23, 2009 in Siberian Federal University.

Prof. Dr. Hasirci Vasif Nejat and Prof. Dr. Hasirci Nesrin, well-known specialists in the field of biotechnology and biophysics of METU (Ankara, Turkey) hold the course of lectures for students of Institute of Fundamental Biology and Biotechnology from April 27 to May 02, 2009 at Siberian Federal University and Institute of Biophysics SB RAS.

Rector of Siberian Federal University held a meeting with the best young sportsmen who study and work in the University: Olympic Champions, World Champions, European and Russian Champions in Greco-Roman wrestling and Ski Orienteering. Eugene A. Vaganov, Rector of Siberian Federal University, Academician of RAS presented medals and appreciation letters to the students and staff of the University. He also expressed his gratitude to the coaches of the young sportsmen: Michael A. Gamzin, Alexander Y. Bliznevskiy and Valentina S. Bliznevskaya.

Siberian Federal University and the University of Alcala (Spain) signed the Agreement on cooperation in Siberian Federal University.

Emilio Botin, the President of the Santander Group and Eugene A. Vaganov, Rector of Siberian Federal University signed the appendix to the Agreement on cooperation the present day. It allows SibFU and Santander Bank to broaden a framework of the existing cooperation and offer new initiatives to increase quality of educational and R&D activities of Siberian Federal University.

The Spring Futsal Student Tournament was held in April 5—12, 2009 in Sochi (Russian resort city). 10 top-rank Russian teams took part in the Tournament. The futsal-players of Siberian Federal University ended up as winners of the Tournament.

The concert of Henrietta Davis, the US singer was held on the 10th of April, 2009 in the Concert Hall of Siberian Federal University.

National Law Moot Court Competition named after Philip C. Jessup was held on the 4-8th of February, 2009 in Moscow. The team of SibFU students took part in the Competition.
