John Edwards who supervises business development of London Stock Exchange in Russia read public lecture called «Corporate governance under the conditions of the world crisis. Vision from London» on the 10th of February, 2009 in Siberian Federal University.

National symposium on the Arctic territories will be held in Krasnoyarsk on the 27-28th of February, 2009 within the framework of VI Krasnoyarsk economic forum.

Concert grand «Bösendorfer» is set up in the assembly hall on 26 Kirensky Street. «Bösendorfer» is an Austrian Company, which exists more than 150 years. The unique handiwork instrument ranks among the best fifth concert grands in the world along with such grands as «Steinway», «Bechstein», etc.

The competition results of interdisciplinary integration projects of SB RAS were summarized on the 15th of January, 2009. There were also 6 projects with the participation of SibFU among the winners.

Eugene A. Vaganov, Rector of Siberian Federal University, Professor of Russian Academy of Sciences held a press-conference on the 16th of January, 2009. It was the first Rector’s press-conference with journalists in 2009. During the press-conference, Rector of Siberian Federal University summarized implementation of the SibFU development programme in 2008 and defined university plans for the future.

On the 16th of January 2009, Sergei Bogdanchikov, the President of OAO Rosneft Oil Company, Nicolai Glushkov, the Minister of Architecture and Civil Construction of Krasnoyarsk Region and Eugene A. Vaganov, Rector of Siberian Federal University, Professor of Russian Academy of Sciences visited the site where the new educational laboratory building of SibFU Institute of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering is planned to be built.

Seven SibFU Professors were invited to the 7th Professorial Ball which was held on the 14th of January, 2009 in the International Convention and Exhibition Centre «Siberia».

Vladimir Mukusyev, the legendary television presenter of the “Vzglyad” TV programme, will visit Siberian Federal University from December 15 till December 19, 2008. The famous journalist was invited to Krasnoyarsk by the Institute of Philology and Language Communication of Siberian Federal University.

On December 16, 2008 the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Krasnoyarsk Territory (UMBKT) and Siberian Federal University signed an Agreement on Cooperation.
