Professor Rubin will speak about the two interconnected fileds of basic pysics: cosmology, the science of how the Universe develops, and particle physics.

The lectures are about the genesis of the Universe, its past, future and structure; the structure of galaxies, supermassive black holes, cosmic rays, the genesis of ultra-high energy cosmic rays. Professor Rubin will introduce his audience to particle physics and he will speak about the discovery of the Higgs boson. He will describe the laws of physics at the foundation of new theories. Professor Rubin will discuss the existence of additional dimensions and their role as a tool of theoretical physics.
