Evgeny A. Vaganov, SibFU Rector held a meeting with Olga Medvedtseva, 2- year student of the SibFU Physical Education and Sports Department on March 11, 2010.

It is necessary to recall that 4 sportsmen represented Russia at the XXI Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver (Canada):

• Svetlana Boldykova — coach and faculty member of the Sports club (snowboard), World Champion and participant of the Olympic Games (Turin, Italy);
• Andrey Boldykov — coach and faculty member of the Sports club (snowboard), World Champion;
• Olga Medvedtseva — 2-year student of the SibFU Physical Education and Sports Department, Olympic gold medal biathlete, winner at the World Cup stage 2010;
• Evgeny Ustyugov — coach and faculty member of the Sports club (biathlon), winner at the World Cup stage 2009.

Olga Medvedtseva joined the women’s national team and won gold medal at the 4х6 km relay. She contributed a lot to defend her winner’s title as she had advantage to 45 seconds and did not miss any shoots at the range.

Evgeny Ustyugov claimed men's biathlon 15km mass start gold at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver as he shot clean through his four shoots. He also joined the men’s national team and won bronze medal in the relay.
