Per Carlsen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Russia visited Siberian Federal University within the framework of the official visit to Krasnoyarsk on June 15, 2010.

The Ambassador expressed his interest in establishing joint student exchange programmes in Russian and Danish higher educational institutions. He also held the official meetings with Evgeny A. Vaganov, SibFU Rector and students to get to know more about Russian educational programmes.

Per Carlsen was born in 1948 in Copenhagen (Denmark).

In 1974, he graduated from Copenhagen University with the degree of Master of Arts (Speciality - «History and the Russian Language»).

He had a remarkable and interesting career move.
Since 1974, Per Carlsen was appointed at the range of senior positions such as: Head of the Policy Office of the Defense Forces of Denmark, Head of the OSCE Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, First Secretary of the Denmark Embassy in Moscow, Head of the USSR Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since 1992, he worked as a Head of the NATO Office in the Ministry of Defense of Denmark.

Since 1994, he became a member of the Danish Committee of Security and Disarmament Council.

In 2001, he headed the Danish Institute of International Relations.

Since September 1, 2005, Per Carlsen works as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Russia and CIS countries.

He strives to preserve warm relationships between Russia and Denmark which started to collaborate when the Agreement on Love and Cooperation had been signed in 1493.

Per Carlsen mostly devotes his work to cultural exchange visiting a lot of higher educational institutions of Russia.

He has a good command of four languages: English, Russian, Spanish and French.

Per Carlsen is married; he has one son and two daughters.
