SibFU wrestlers continue impressive rise with bronze medal at the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship

Nazir Mankiev and Aslanbek Khushtov, SibFU students won bronze medals on September 6, 2010 at the World Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship held in Moscow (Russia).

Fighting for bronze medal, Aslanbek Khushtov won David Soldadze, silver medalist of the Olympic Games 2000 from Azerbaijan in the 96 kg weight category and Nazir Mankiev won Peter Moders, wrestler from Hungary in the 55 kg weight category. Both fights were held in one day.

Nazir Mankiev pointed out: «Hungarian with whom I fought for bronze medal is a very complicated rival. I have fought four times with him and each time it was difficult for me to win. He is tall and strong but I couldn’t even think about losing the fight in front of the Russian audience».

According to the competition results, Russian Greco-Roman Wrestling team with the SibFU students included succeeded in the team classification at the Championship.
