SFU scientists presented several papers at the IV European Symposium on Biopolymers in Turkey (October 2007). This area of the university’s research focuses on producing bioplastics for various purposes. The research was carried out by Siberian Federal University and the Russian Academy of Sciences, Siberian Branch.

Led by Professor Tatyana Volova of the Centre for Research and Education Yenisey, the team created degradable bioplastic materials using bacteria and their products. Scientific contacts made at the conference may lead to further developments in research at the university and Siberian research centres.
