Doctor of Engineering, professor of the Department of Radio Engineering at the School of Engineering Physics and Radioelectronics (SibFU) Alexey Serzhantov has been awarded the honorary title of Honored Inventor of the Russian Federation.
The awarding decree of President of Russia Vladimir Putin was published on 14 June 2022. The document states that the title was awarded for many years of fruitful inventive activity. Alexey Serzhantov has more than 50 patents in the field of communications and microwave frequencies. His inventions are used for purification and amplification of radio signals.
At the department where Dr Serzhantov works, they explained that the nomination for the award began two years ago, and only now all the formalities have been completed.
“From his student days he worked in the field of radiophysics. He quickly defended first his candidate thesis, then his doctoral thesis and devoted all his time to R&Ds. He chose a practical direction — everything related to improving the quality of communication and filtering of signals. Therefore, we collectively decided that it was necessary to nominate him for such an honorary title,” said Yury Salomatov, head of the Department of Radio Engineering (SibFU).
